Philip Guston postponed

The show was postponed due to some concerns about the paintings Guston has made about the Ku Klux Klan. The problem was on how the people, specifically black people would react to these paintings, thinking it is either offensive and/or racist. To have the exhibition to be postponed is perhaps better rather than cancel it. Canceling this exhibition would have been a mistake because there have been many exhibition that seemed to be none "family friendly" but are there, such as nudity, gore, creepy paintings, etc., Guston's paintings are no different. How this ends up gives us two opposite flags. Not having this exhibition to be shown in public shows the fear of the art museums owners have to the people, they think that they will be fierce in anger and may tear down the museum. On the other hand is how unfair this is, in the article, many artists also disagree of the postponing of the exhibition because like I have said, there has been many exhibitions similar to Guston's that are shown in public many times. This event would mark a weird toll on Art history. It will show the situation the world has been and will tell us the actions as to why it happened.
